Integer division truncation in reward calculation
A division-before-multiplication pattern in the reward computation produced systematic precision loss that compounded over time, distributing rewards unfairly toward large holders.
Description
The reward calculation performed division before multiplication on integer values, truncating intermediate results. Small-share users systematically received less than their fair allocation; the truncated remainder flowed to the largest holder (or accrued as dust). Over many epochs the bias compounded into a measurable unfair distribution.
Impact
- Unfair distribution of rewards favoring large holders.
- Cumulative dust loss for small holders.
- Erosion of trust in the reward accounting.
Recommendation
Reorder operations to multiply before dividing where possible. For unavoidable precision loss, track the residual and distribute it deterministically rather than truncating it silently.
